Dave & Buster’s launches upgraded food and beverage menu

Eatertainment restaurant brand seeks to increase food and beverage attachment rate

Dave & Buster's Entertainment Inc. has launched a new dine-in menu that features more than 20 new food and drinks, the company said Thursday, and also offered a 50% food discount to rewards-program members.

The Coppell, Texas-based brand, which also owns the Main Event concept, said the menu overhaul, now in Phase 3, was part of the plan to increase food and beverage sales.

“We know our company has lost attachment over the past decade,” said Chris Morris, Dave & Buster’s CEO, in an earnings call in early April. “We believe the steps we are taking to improve our food offering and service model will go a long way toward recapturing our historically higher levels of attachment.”

Morris said test results for the Phase 3 menu led the company to expect to drive at least a mid-single digit increase in food and beverage revenue per check.

The new menu includes shareable Sampler Boards and Loaded Barbacoa Fries. New items include:

  • Game Day Grub Sampler Board – Pretzel dogs, smashed burger sliders and bone-in wings with choice of sauce or dry rub, served with habanero, celery sticks and ranch or blue cheese that serves four to six people.
  • Loaded Barbacoa Fries – Fries with queso blanco, shredded beef, pico de gallo, jalapeños, cotija cheese and fguacamole.
  • Stacked Steak Bowl – Sliced steak on jasmine rice with roasted cauliflower, bell pepper, red onion, hard-boiled egg, arugula, tomato, avocado, lime, ancho lime mayo, cotija cheese and cilantro.
  • Cajun Shrimp Pasta – Blackened shrimp, jalapeño cheddar sausage and bell peppers tossed in spicy Alfredo sauce and topped with shredded parmesan.
  • Cereal Cake – Cereal-flavored cake topped with marshmallow cream icing and cotton candy. Surrounded by sweet vanilla cream sauce and Jumbo Froot Loops Cereal.
  • Non-alcoholic Flavored Lemonades and Teas – Flavors include strawberry, raspberry, peach or mango.

"We are constantly researching and testing new products made with only the freshest ingredients, and this new phase of our menu is no different," said David Spirito, Dave & Buster’s vice president of food and beverage, in a statement.

"Our goal is to ensure guests not only have a blast playing with family and friends while in-restaurant but are also able to enjoy quality time over delicious food that surprises and delights the senses,” Spirito said.

Dave & Buster’s is offering new and existing D&B Rewards members 50% off all food at Dave & Buster's April 15 to April 28.

"This special new offer is our way of thanking our D&B Rewards members for their continued loyalty,” said Megan Tobin, Dave & Buster’s chief marketing officer. “We're so excited to be able to give them another reason to visit Dave & Buster's to experience and enjoy our new menu with 20-plus new food offerings.”

Dave & Buster’s, founded in 1982, owns and operates 223 venues in North America. The company has 164 Dave & Buster's branded stores in 42 states, Puerto Rico, and Canada. It also operates 59 Main Event branded stores in 20 states.
